While sleeplessness is certain to cause memory loss and uncertainty in one’s abilities, it does not alter the intelligence of the sleeper. To be frank, I may be losing sleep and I may perform more poorly in school because of said lost sleep, but at least I am trying. I will continue to do so until I achieve that which I desire: an education with which I am satisfied. It is unfortunate, however, that I must trade academic achievement for sleep. In this area I grieve deeply. I must be kind with my body or else I will not remain sane.
